A Few Things I'm Thankful For....

Sometimes we get so caught up in our lives that we forget to express our gratitude for the blessings we have.

Emily Freeman, an author, came to my church to speak to the women a couple of weeks ago. She said something that stuck with me, "You don't just HAVE a good day....but you must SEE good days." How true is that!?

No matter what is going on in our lives each day, it is our perception that matters. We can FIND joy in our lives everyday, we just have to LOOK for it!

I believe one of the ways to do this is by expressing gratitude!

That's why I am linking up with Primary Powers today for their "Super Thankful Linky"

Here are some of the things I am grateful for in my life:

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope that you can find time to ponder about the things that you are thankful for and LOOK for joy in your life each day.

Gobbling Up a Product Swap!

First, I'd like to thank everyone who signed up to participate in my first product swap! I wasn't sure how it would go this first time around so I only accepted a limited number of bloggers. I was originally planning on having this go live before Halloween, but an unexpected family emergency occurred, so it was pushed back to today. (I'd like to thank all participants for their patience!)

So, let's get down to business!

I had the privilege of swapping a product with Greg Smedley from
http://www.thekindergartensmorgasboard.com/

If you don't already follow him, now's your chance! Just click on his blog button above!

He is seriously one of the happiest people I've ever "met". He is filled with creative ideas to help his kindergarten students succeed, and they all adore him!
(Oh, AND he loves glitter!!)

Just like everyone else did with their partner, I got to chose one product of my choice from Greg's TPT store to review. Let me just tell you that he has some FABULOUS products! If you haven't had the chance to browse his store you have definitely been missing out!

It was a hard choice, but I finally decided on his Gobbling Up Measurement! pack.

My classes always LOVED measurement centers and I couldn't pass up the adorable "turkey ruler" included in this center.

If you follow my blog, you know that I am actually not in the classroom this year due to my husband doing clinical rotations for school...but I was able to borrow my neighbor's daughter to be my assistant!

This center has 20 different pages with fun Thanksgiving clip art. Each image has a guiding line on it to help your students measure the correct length.

There are 2 different ways for your students to measure. The first way is with individual turkey pictures. Students will place the turkeys next to each other in order to determine the length.

The other way is using the adorable turkey ruler. If you choose this option you could use it as an "around the room" center! (My students would get so excited whenever we'd have "around the room" centers!)

First, my cute little assistant measured the picture...

Then she counted how many turkeys tall it was...

Lastly, she wrote it down on her recording sheet.

She had so much fun doing this center!

This would be a great way for your students to practice measuring. It would definitely keep them engaged and there are plenty of pictures included to keep them focused and working hard.

So what do you think!? Would you like to win a copy of Greg's "Gobbling Up Measurement!" center!?! (Really, who wouldn't, right?) Here's your chance! Greg will email the lucky winner their very own copy!

a Rafflecopter giveaway
Greg also got to choose a product of his choice from my store and he picked:
An Odd and Even Pack
Just click on the picture above to go to his blog post to see more about this 65 page unit and enter to win your own copy! I also have this pack on sale in my tpt store for the next 3 days.

I would now like to invite you to check out all the other swaps and giveaways going on!
